The Question:

I am a 22 year old ex-athlete who has fallen way out of shape. I am 188 pounds and about 5'10". Everyone has told me that I have the perfect body to build muscle; so recently I started a body building weight program and lift five days a week. After just one week I have seen a great difference in my apperance. I have lots of fat that needs to be burned. Everyone that I have talked to about supplements; have all told me that anabolic steriods is the only way to add the muscle I want. I have been researching all sorts of stacks, but I can't decide which would be the best for me. Here is my routine if it will help you in trying to suggest the best stack.

Mon. Chest and 30 min cardio
Tues. Backs and Calves
Wed. Shoulders and 30 min Cardio
Thur. Legs
Fri. Arms and 30 min cardio

I spend at least an hour per muscle group to utilize the bodies natural steriod, but if at all possible I would like to see results similar to a bodybuilder.

The Answer:

The Fitrex site offers a free 5 Day Bodybuilding Mass workout as just one option for you. All the weight, set, and rep combinations are all laid out for you, based on your initial strength test data that you give us. Sign up for a program, check out our supplement partner eNutrition, and let me know what you think. If I thought there was a better way to go about bodybuilding, I would have that program available on the site.

Regarding steroids...
The first thing that I will tell you is that steroids work. They will increase body size, strength, recovery ability, etc. But, they also work to do many negative things to your system. Blood pressure problems, sterility, gynocomastia (breast tissue development in males) acne, heart disease, liver and kidney malfunctions, etc.

Steroids were initially developed for medical uses. They should only be taken for specific medical conditions and then only under the direct supervision of a doctor. I can also tell you right now that 99.9% of all steroid users don't know a thing about the specific cycling needed to safely take steroids. Because, there is no safe way. It's like playing russian roulette. A person never knows if their particular body will have a negative reaction when taking steroids.

Many times novice lifters like yourself will look to the big gorilla in the gym for information on how to take steroids. More often than not these guys are as misinformed as the novice lifters themselves. Don't fall into the mental trap of trying to get huge overnight. This is a big mistake. And, a young lifter can destroy himself for the rest of his life if he turns to the easy road of taking pills and injections to develop his body. You should take the high road. Train hard, eat well, get enough rest and live a healthy lifestyle.
