The Question:

I have just found out your website this morning and I have a question. Do you also provide special program for those who have home gym. I myself have a Bowflex at home.
And can you tell me the difference between the Get Lean and Bodybuilding programs, to me they seem to overlap with each other?

The Answer:

At this time I have not developed specific programs for home gyms like the Bowflex, or the Total Gym. I will eventually!

You are correct in stating that there are similarities between the Get Lean programs and the Bodybuilding programs. This is because there are similarities in the goals of each program. An individual on a Get Lean program would like to focus mostly on reducing bodyfat levels and creating a better, more toned physique. This is very similar to what an individual on a Bodybuilding program would want as well. Only, with a huge emphasis on getting, well, Huge! The difference between the Get Lean programs and the Bodybuilding programs really involves two basic things. One is overall exercise volume, the other is the periodization structure. Let me explain. The overall volume of the bodybuilding programs is greater when compared to the Get Lean programs. For example, you will never see 9 sets for the triceps muscle on the Get Lean Programs. Also, the periodization structure of the Get Lean programs moves back and forth between classic endurance phases and low level hypertrophy phases whereas the bodybuilding programs will start with endurance based set and rep combinations but then move into hypertrophy and strength based training phases exclusively. There are various superset combinations in the bodybuilding programs as well.

Try examining weeks 1 through 4 on each of the programs to see the general flow of what I’ve just explained.
