The Question:

I am part of the NROTC battallion you came and talked to this last semester. I think your website is great and has helped me a lot. I didn't see anything on this website about improving quickness when it comes to sprinting. I was wondering if you could help me lower my 40 time. If you have any pointers I would be very appreciative.

The Answer:

One of the first things I can say about lowering your 40 yard sprint time is that you will have to stop doing distance work! I also know that you are tested with a distance running test and not a sprint oriented test like the 40. So, you will have to make a decision!

The 40 yard sprint is all about acceleration. It is a test that demands power, flexibility, and specific starting technique. Fitrex can help you with the power and the flexibility part of the equation. However, giving you tips on specific starting and sprinting technique is pretty tough to do. I will work on some getting some quality sprinting tips together as soon as I can!
