The Question:Does the calculated weight for barbell excercises include the weight of the bar itself?
Is the amount of weight shown for each barbell excercise the amount that should be put on each side if the barbell or is that the total weight that
should be on the barbell?
Is the amount of weight shown for each dumbell excercise the amount for each dumbell or the total amount of weight for each excercise?
The Answer:To answer your first question, YES the bar is included in the prescribed TOTAL weight. So, for example, bench pressing 135 lbs would be the bar (usually 45 lbs) and a 45 lb weight on both sides of the bar (45x3=135).
Barbell exercises refer to the TOTAL weight of the barbell, including the bar and weights.
The amount shown for dumbbell exercise refers to each INDIVIDUAL dumbbell. Some exercises are intended for 2 dumbbells to be used simultaneously, but they should BOTH be the weight prescribed by the program.
I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for using Fitrex!!
