The Question:

I like to take a walk right after I eat. Usually after lunch and sometimes dinner. I walk a little bit faster than my normal speed for about a half an hour. Is this a good thing or bad thing?
Should I wait a little while even though it is more inconvienient for me?

The Answer:

Not too many people would know this but it is great to walk directly after eating. Exercise makes a hormone called insulin much more effective. Insulin is responsible for creating an absortion affect for the calories that you just ate. However, too much insulin can create too much absorption causing a greater storage of calories and an uneven energy level. I am explaining this in a very basic way but I hope you get the picture. The exercise makes a little bit of insulin go a long way and helps to burn those extra calories for reducing body fat levels! So, keep walking but don't walk so fast as to create stomach upset!
