The Question:I need to build up my legs, what exercises do you recommend? I used to play water polo and have a large chest but my legs are very much out of proportion - please help!!! The Answer:The best exercises for leg development are going to be multi-joint exercises such as the squat, leg press, and deadlift. If you are wanting to add mass the Bodybuilding program or one of the Strength and Power Programs would be the place to start.
You will also want to look at your diet. Consuming an adequate amount of protein along with quality sources of fat and carbohydrates is extremely important. If you are trying hard you should try to consume 1 gram of quality protein per pound of bodyweight.
Quality proteins include chicken, fish, egg whites, low fat dairy sources and protein powders that utilyze combinations of whey, casienate or egg based proteins like Myoplex from EAS, Met-Rx, Lean Body by Labrada etc.
