The Question:

Dan, I signed on to the motocross fitness program and noticed that the 4 day schedule specifies the use of a med ball. Since I don't own one and generally work out by myself at home, are there alternatives that I can implement?

The Answer:

There is really nothing that will take the place of medicine ball training. The dynamic movement associated with med ball training makes them great for increasing the strength and power of the torso area. You could try out some of the resisted abdominal exercises like these: Dumbbell Side Bends http://www.fitrex.com/fitness_info/exercise872.html Cable Crunches http://www.fitrex.com/fitness_info/exercise433.html Cable High Pulley Torso Twists http://www.fitrex.com/fitness_info/exercise431.html Cable Low Pulley Torso Twists http://www.fitrex.com/fitness_info/exercise429.html Plate Twists http://www.fitrex.com/fitness_info/exercise624.html
